I have this issue but it's with the desktop app and it happens when I zoom in to 110%
Hey there @EvDaGreat,
Thanks for reaching out! I've moved your post to a new thread since your issue is not happening in the web player.
I've tested this but haven't been able to replicate the behavior you mentioned. Can you confirm if you've already gone through these steps for a clean reinstall of the app?
It'd also be helpful to know your device's make, model, OS version and the Spotify version you're currently running.
We'll be on the lookout for your reply.
Hi, I'm having the same problem. I have an ASUS TUF F15 laptop on Windows 11 on the latest version and my Spotify client is version 1.2.57.463.g4f748c64. The only thing different for me is my zoom is set to 100%. Canvas also works just fine on my iPhone 16 running iOS 18.1.3.
Hey guys, I fixed this by just fiddling with the zoom level in the settings. Hope this helps someone
I'm on the latest version of Windows 10. My OS display setting is set to 4k resolution with a 300% zoom. Canvas worked perfectly fine until the latest Windows 10 update. Spotify version:
Thanks for the info, @EvDaGreat.
Could you try disabling/enabling Hardware acceleration + restarting the app to see if that helps? You can do this from the three dots menu at the top left corner > Help > Troubleshooting.
It's also worth checking if resizing the Spotify window and/or the Now Playing view has any effect on this.
Let us know how it goes 👍
I've tried everything from disabling hardware acceleration, clearing the cache, clean reinstall, using the windows store version. Nothing works. The only thing that kind of works is changing the zoom level back to default, but when I change the zoom level back to 110% and I switch to a new song or new album, canvas playback disappears again (the disappearing canvas only happens at 110% zoom level, works fine at 100% and lower). I've used Spotify on windows at 110% zoom for years without issue until now.
Hey @EvDaGreat,
Thank you for keeping in contact and for the info shared.
Since in a previous message you mentioned that the issue started after a Windows update, would you mind checking, if possible, on a different PC (using your own account) to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can borrow one from a friend or family member to test it out.
It would also be great if you could have someone log in with their account on your PC - such as a friend or a family member, to see if changing the zoom makes the issue persist.
Lastly, would you mind confirming if the issue happens with any zoom above 110% or if it happens specifically with 110%?
We'll be waiting for your response.
I logged into my Spotify account (fresh install from Spotify website) on a Windows 11 (don't know if it's the latest version of Windows 11) laptop and was able to replicate the issue by changing the zoom level to 110% or higher. The canvas, after playing a couple songs, stops functioning and its blank with no artwork, the same issue I'm having on my Windows 10 PC. Going past the 100% zoom level seems to cause issue with canvas playback on both Windows 10 and 11. On Windows 10, the issue started happening after the Feb 11 Windows update. Hey @EvDaGreat,
Thanks for getting back to us.
If you could replicate this behavior on a different device, it's possible that the issue is account related. To check that, could you ask a friend or a relative to log in to their account on your PC to see if the same happens with their account?
Keep us posted.
Hey there @EvDaGreat,
Thanks for your reply and for all the info shared.
We could replicate the behavior you kindly described, the video you kindly sent us really helped us. In that sense, we've passed all the info onto the right team. They'll continue investigating this one further.
Meanwhile, we'd suggest you subscribe to this thread to get notified as soon as we post any news.
We'll be on the lookout for your replies.
Cheers!
Thank you!!! And I will be waiting on an update! 👍
