Download playlist to computer

Hi all,

I've been searching the forums, but cant seem to find my answer.

Are we able to download playlists to a laptop? I have premium. Not sure if its even a possibility. Please help!

Well first of hello Roxythettopfoxy and welcome to the spotify community!!!

To anwser your question very simply

YES!!! you can download your playlists to your laptop or even desktop computer.

All you have to do is download the spotify desktop app which is available hereSpotify Download!!!

Once you download this you just sign in like any other spotify app and your playlists will show on the sidebar.

Open your playlist and click the button/slider which says available offline!!!

Its as simple as that!!!!

Just a little add on to Chris_Cornell's post you do have to have a permium account in order to download playlists or music for offline use.

As this post is now a little old can I ask a further question. I have spotify premium and have made a playlist which I have downloaded - not sure where it's downloaded to! I'm doing this all on my laptop by the way, not using a phone. I want to play my music where there is no internet, can I do this using my laptop? Is this where the downloading bit comes in?

You are not able to download songs from spotify to your computer.

It will only download for offline use, this idea would be great to go on the idea board!

Hi, so when you 'download' your playlist where does it go? I've been looking for it on my laptop in 'downloads'.

Does it only 'download ' to a phone then? Because most people want to play it on the go.

It stays in the spotify cache.

Ok. So, when i want to play it back without internet, can I? Where do i find the 'cache'??

You cannot access the song cache.

The way to play a song offline is by swiping download and then playing the song.

Hi, my purpose of purchasing premium was to create a playlist to bring to my buddies house every week for our music listening night. He does not have internet in his isolated location so I thought I could download songs on my PC or Nexus phone and it would be available off line on a coninuous shuffle play order. Is this not possible.? I dont want to have to play each song individualy. If the destktop unit does not downloading I am ok with you using my Nexus or playback. When I switch it to airplane mode or off line to play back my music it sayd Your offline please connect to the internet and try again.

DA I know I am off line as I set it that way. Thats why I bought it for and I cant access it offline on either my laptop or nexus. Any solution would be greatly appreciated.

When you download to your laptop, it does not automatically download to your iphone, correct? You have to download You have to slide the download button on your iphone separately? If that is so you could have different playlists downloaded to your laptop and iphone?

Your phone and laptop should both show your downloads from Spotify as long as you have the app installed. Shouldnt be a problem. the 2 sync together.

So if I download playlists from my PC, will they appear on the offline mode of my Android?

Because I have downloaded a few playlists from the PC and they are not appearing in my Android's spotify...
