Spotify won't open - 'application not responding'

About a couple days ago my spotify decided it wasn't going to open. I click on the application, it bounces up and down but doesn't open. when I right click it, it comes up with 'application not responding'. I've just tried removing it and reinstalling it. the box with spotify in it appears and the spotify icon comes up again but still doesn't open. How can i fix this?

Yes but this is a short term fix, anything permanent?

I don't know of any permanent fix. How often does this happen and simply doing the task to get it right back up again doesn't take much time out of your day, does it?

it doesnt work still i go to open spotify it doesnt open. I did ctrl + alt + delete, went into task manager and looked for spotify found it clicked on it nothing happened, then looked for process or whatever still didnt find it or it didnt work.

CTRL+SHIFT+ESC Always goes to the task manager 😉

Finally figured it out!!!

I re-installed spotify so it would open then i went to the settings menu

in advanced and turned off the option for spotify to automatically open

when i logged in to my computer 

and havent had any problems since then

My spotify isnt even on the process tab for some reason. Is there another way i can fix the spotify.
