My Question or Issue:

When I use Spotify on desktop, I like to keep my view split between the album/playlist on the right, and my library on the left. Now currently, the library view takes up a three-wide grid showing less of my library and making the playlist/album section too large. Wondering if this is a bug or a change that's here to stay.

welcome to the club!
Spotify developers did a very bad job! No idea what they had in their coffee...
Hopefully they will undo it...

I have been paying for Spotify for over 8 years, but unless this issue is resolved in a month, I will be switching platforms. Yes, this issue irks me so much that I will rebuild my library of music to move to a platform which respects its users and artists.

Can we finally get a fix for this im still tearing my hair out of this completely USELESS, POINTLESS, GARBAGE CHANGE

please change it back please change it back please change it back

My Question or Issue

You've just made an update to the library view on the desktop app limiting the size of the album icons and the range of movement for the movable bar - it's really annoying!! Previously there was the ability to have bigger icons and more albums on the grid, with a 50/50 split in the size of the sections, library vs playback window - this was perfect - please change it back!!

Seriously terrible. You do understand that all of us don't have great vision don't you? Small is bad. big is good. Let me resize this the way I need to, to be able to see the albums and artists as I did before. So goofy.

I can't believe someone sat down and thought this was a good idea for an update. I've cancelled my subscription and am going to be trying out other streaming services for a few months with some free trials. Maybe when that's over, Spotify will have fixed this silliness.

But when you click on something, it shrinks again.  This makes searching a right faff.  How can I keep it open always?

Crazy they still haven't fixed this

@Chaken: What do you think, with a total of 48 posts / complaints...
I don't think Spotify sees any need for action...๐Ÿ˜

Seriously Spotify? I thought it was a belated April Fool's joke or a nasty programming error. But I read here that they wanted to try something out?

Tip: please don't take any more of the weird stuff that obviously leads to such nonsense. Please reactivate the old layout with freely selectable width of the library. As soon as possible! Thank you!

This is a horrible UI downgrade. Extremely frustrating for loyal users who heavily rely on Library to save, manage and explore music. What is the benefit of aggressively pushing for music explore page? I don't want to see all the BS recommendation playlist AI generated. If this cant be solved, might start to consider migrating to other apps.

It doesn't even make sense! Why would you need 3/4 of the window for the album/playlist? Surely if anything was going to be minimised it would be the player side, so you could scroll through albums/playlists more freely. Either way, clearly us users prefer the freedom to modify that aspect of the window as we wish - CHANGE IT BACK!!

Wanted to echo what others have been saying:
Having the library take up only a small part, or the WHOLE screen and nothing in between is a very bad experience on desktop.
Please have the right team look into this, I use the app daily for 8+ hours per day, and the flow of picking a song revolves around browsing through my library.
I understand putting a practical limit on the panel size, but half the screen should be the artificial maximum if one is going to be chosen

Please revert this change ASAP

making the library full screen does NOT provide a solution for the problem. Op specifically asked for better distribution of space and/or the ability to customize how much screen each section takes. You should stop shipping these stupid-ass changes to the users every time you wanna "test" something. Who even asked for this?

Just adding my feedback to the rest - I also very much dislike this change. Why not keep the Expand Your Library button around, but without having the reduced max width of the library section? Best of both worlds. I don't see what possible value there is in having such a severe restriction on the width of the library section.

My Library is what I want to see more than anything else.

Please revert back to the previous functionality, where users can determine without constraints how wide UI panels are.

Hello?!?!? It's been over a month now? Fix it already!!!!!!

Hi @Eni, I agree with the other comments - it's not a solution. I check every day whether the change has been undone and the window can be moved as we wish - still no joy. We will not forget! Change it back!!
