[Account] Change Username

I know this is probably out there somewhere already, but I find it quite frustrating that I was assigned a "username" of lots of numbers when my account was created.  It makes it hard for people to find me, as I can't remember my username, let alone try to get them to.  Can we please make it an option to change our username?  Even if there is a once-a-year change or something...that would be such a helpful thing!

Pleeeeeeease please please please. I hate the fact that I cannot edit my display name. 

I am very glad I did not initially create my Spotify through Facebook,  I really don't like the idea of having my full legal name being stuck as my display name. 8/

Right now there is no provision in Spotify to update your username. There is already a lot of discussion about it on the Spotify community forum:

To be a part of the discussion, you have to be part of the Spotify community forum. Plus you can vote if you want to show your disagreement towards particular Spotify behavior.

Raise your concern, take part in the discussion, make Spotify an ideal place to listen to music. After all, they do act on it

Agreed - it has been over 5 years for this "idea" and it has over 14k votes.  Other ideas linked in the comments for this idea have hundreds of votes.

Spotify hasn't listened.

I even told them that this was one of the main reasons I was not continuing the 3 month / 99cent Premium trial.  They still did not listen.

Until customers start voting with their dollar and demanding more from streaming services, they won't invest as much in listening to the "community".  Here's a good video to summarize why:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDF-S68kx5o  It's not my video, but I do agree with many of the points the creator makes.

Why don't you keep the username as you want, but add a field on the Account page so that we can set our real name that will be shown in the app. My friends and family will then be able to find my playlists by name.

You should make this a priority.

At least give opportunity to create a nickname different from the username to display on profile page.
