Add support for Android TV

Android TV is Google's latest take on Android for the TV and is released with Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The first device running Android TV is Google's own device Nexus Player.

The good thing with Android TV is that it runs regular Android apps with some modifications and it also has built in support for Google Cast.

Availability my devices is a major factor for me. 

I really like Spotify but Play Music has far better integration in. Android TV, Android Wear and Google Cast functionality in general.

Hmmm, dear spotify, we know you love Apple toys, you support Apple TV etc, but you rly should consider giving some love to Android toys as well, Android TV and Android Wear and Chromecast are strictly designed, so there is no need to wonder about milion of devices with customization, this should be rly easy for you to implement... or is it to much for you one android developer? 😄

premium subscriber. I need Spotify App. Even Pandora has an app.  But a premium service like Spotify with no Android TV app? 

I sideloaded as well but it is not the same.

Do you (Spotify) hate Google/Android?

No ChromeCast support

No Android TV support

New features in the Android app comes many months or even over a year (playlist folders) after the IOS version

Why have Fire TV got support, when there's no plans for Android TV? Fire OS 3 is actually forked from Android 4.2.2! 

Android TV is built in to new Sony, Philips and Sharp tvs, game consoles from Razer and Nvidia, in addition to the Nexus Player, so I guess more and more people will demand Android TV support.

@jornhd so true, Spotify hate Android and Google, or maybe they just do not have good programmers, and all android developers are just idiots... Fire TV support is useless, no one use Fire TV now, Android TV is future

So disappointing.. i was really looking forward to this as i'm simply looking for a neat way to get Spotify on my TV (+ coupled sound system), like i can imagine a lot of other people want as well! Now that more and more TV's from big brands and other media players are running Android TV, i just can't see why Spotify would want to wait with development for this platform. Especially since i can't imagine it to be THAT much work...

I'll tell what IS right now. Deactivate your spotify and pay the same money for Google Play Music and get it on Apple TV .. Easy!

Wow this is really disappointing. You could at least create a Spotify connect app, as this won't need a whole new TV friendly UI.
