[Android] Bring back swipe down to search / filter

I really like the addition of being able to sort Liked Songs by Artist and Album, thank you for that.

However, with that, it's been made unnecessarily more difficult to search for specific songs in Liked Songs by requiring you to push the top right 3 dots and then "Find in Liked Songs".

Please bring back being able to simply swipe down, get the search bar, and type in the song details.

Hi folks,

Thanks for sharing your feedback about this idea in the Community.

We’re excited to let you know that this feature is back! You can access it by simply swiping down on the currently opened playlist - a search bar and a Sort button will appear, allowing you to sort and filter tracks with ease.

Once again thanks for making Spotify better!

You should enable this function for all playlists, not just the one for Liked Songs. A user friendly search function (own library should be a key element of any music app

Thank you, you mentioned this. It's really annoying to pass through the "three dots".

I agree. Really frustrated by all the changes and removed features from spotify recently. Absolutely no idea why they'd remove the swipe down to search. It was such a quick, useful and clever gesture.

Yes please

Please bring it up, fed up with the new way to find songs in playlists. Planning on switching if this issue is not resolved.

PLEASE BRING THIS BACK. I love to curate a queued playlist for driving and having that extra step makes it that much more difficult to find and add individual songs to my queue. I loved, loved, loved the filter bar being at the top of every playlist. I listen to the same playlist of over 600 songs on shuffle and being able to filter makes my life so much easier.

I really want this function back.

It seems the swipe down is already implemented, but in an akward way. Spotify (Android) display the search/filter bar if a.) the user is on top of the list and b.) swipes down.

Other applications display a search bar whenever a user drags down, regardless of the position. Why is this an issue? Users open library / albums. Drags up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up... rats. I can't find my album. Now I've change the display order or search for it. Other applications: Drags down, search bar appears. Spotify: Drags down, down, down, down, down, down, down, ... until at top of the list and then the search bar appears.

Workaround for this UI design bug: Go back to home screen and then back to library / albums. An option (fixed search bar) would be awesome btw.

I personally don't want a fixed search bar. It takes up too much space. Swipe down just needs to be consistent throughout the UI with consistent filter options. It is not possible to swipe down to search in a playlist. It is necessary to access the three dot menu and then select find in playlist. No filters are available either.

Swipe down in...

Playlists - Find in playlists (should say 'Find a playlist' because 'in' could be interpreted as find a song in a playlist which it doesn't do. Available filters: Downloads, Relevance, Custom order, Name, Recently Played, Recently Added

Artists - Find in artists. Available filters: Artists, Recently Added

Albums - Find in Albums. Available filters: Downloads, Title, Artist, Recently added

Why is there no filter for Downloads in Artists?? Downloads is an option on this tab and we should be able to filter by downloads. Not that it matters because there is currently no way to shuffle downloaded songs by multiple artists from this tab. Our only option is to play 'hearted' songs from one artist. However, downloads is a filter option in Albums but yet again, we are limited to playing one artist at a time, no multi-artist shuffle of downloaded songs from this tab, and manually selecting another artist. Congrats! You get to be a DJ!

@DragoCubed I'm not sure if you're replying to me, but if you are, to your point "Also, liked songs are the same thing as saved songs but the change hasn't fully rolled out obviously", yes... I implied that when I said Saved Songs don't exist "anymore". And when I "insinuated" (as if it was such a rude thing to do) that someone update their app, it was to explain why he or she couldn't see what this post is about, not to judge or scold for not being up-to-date... Also I don't think anyone in this thread has effectively said "You're wrong" to anyone else.
