[Desktop][Social] Enable Group Session on Desktop

Group Session was recently added to Spotify and it seems like a wonderful feature so far. Unfortunately, it is only available on mobile and tablet so those of us who primarily use the desktop app cannot use it. Please include desktop users in the party!

I greatly prefer the experience and UI on the desktop app and I believe it is better suited for adding songs to a queue (as you do in group session).

Bumping this up.

This is reason why I don't use this feature more often. I listen to music with my wife at home and use a computer to manage Spotify. Having to open our mobile devices to start a Group Session just doesn't make sense.

Essentially have 2 or more friends listen to music in sync, somewhat like a listening party. With an admin that picks which songs, or the ability to make queues. The main purpose is to have the ability to listen to music together with a friend or friends on spotify. Its something unique to other streaming platforms and should really be considered.

I have been scouring the internet for third party desktop alternatives since this still hasn’t been implemented! Especially with the rollout of the Greenhouse app; people can talk about music together but not listen to it? 🤯 It’s like a fundamentally communal activity, listening to music together. Should’ve been a launch feature haha

Hey guys, I know it's counter-intuitive to just firing or helping the software engineer(s),

but if you start the group session on mobile, then choose your PC as the listening device, it'll work for both you and your group.

Spotify, come on and help PC though! Almost 2 years?

C'mon spotify, this is a killer feature. People want to be connected, and spotify hasn't really been a place where connection can happen, until this feature was added, and then it doesn't work on desktop... for real.

It's 2022 march already, please hurry up. We're waiting for a desktop release which includes group session.

You could use Discord for it, when linked your Spotify linked to your account other people can join you.
