[Discover] Please add a "Not Interested" Button

As the title suggests, it would be useful if Spotify had a "not interested" button like YouTube does for videos. I have been using Spotify for many years and still receive a lot of recommendations for playlists and podcasts that I am simply not interested in. One such example is "Learn Korean and Korean Culture" by jerry. I have no interest in learning Korean whatsoever, so it would be useful for me to remove recommendations such as these.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for all the support and feedback you've given to this idea!

We have some exciting news to share with you: in the mobile app, it's now possible to remove content recommendations from the subfeeds (Music and Podcasts & Shows) of your Home screen by tapping Not interested in the context menu of the cards:

The content you mark as "not interested" will instantly be removed from your subfeed and won't show up again. Any other songs/albums/episodes by that artist/podcast show will also be filtered out from future recommendations.

After tapping Not interested, an Undo button will pop up at the bottom of the screen for a short time so you can revert the changes.

Keep in mind that this feature is gradually rolling out, so if you don't see the button in the context menu of the cards, we'd recommend making sure that you're running the latest version of Spotify. If you're having trouble with, or have any other questions about this feature, feel free to reach out in the relevant Help board here.

Thanks again for helping us make Spotify better. We're always striving to provide the best possible user experience and your feedback is always appreciated.

I see the latest milking of customers will take the form of audio books, now available to download for a significant price and healthy Spotify profit.

What's the chances of getting a not interested button for audio books? At a guess I'd say around zero.

I get regular recommendations, but some I am not interested in.. for example "Schlagerfest", "Melodifestivalen"... I do not favor Eurovision. I would be so thankful for "Not interested" choice.

I think this is a great idea. When looking for new music, sometimes I can get the same old stuff over and over again so it would be nice to simply be able to mark it as "not interested"

Excellent idea! Maybe it will help with the recommendations which are terrible, at best. As a paid subscription I am expecting a lot more functions and options. I hate being pushed the latest commercial **bleep** you can hear on the radio.

Frankly, I don't need Spotify to recommend ANYTHING.  I have a set playlist FOR A REASON.  I don't appreciate any interference with it.  At all.  And if I wanted recs I'd use one of the radio options.  Also, your suggestions usually blow chunks.  Which leads me to believe Spotify is somehow getting paid for them.

I cancelled my Spotify premium and migrated my library to Deezer premium because I was getting erotic podcast suggestions on my home screen.

The first thing I see every time I open the app is a big podcast cover with a silhouette of two people having s e x and an orgy in the background... Great... Can't open the app around people because that'd be awkward.

It's been like this for months. A switch to hide explicit content is not sufficient, because I may want to listen to music that Spotify deems explicit, but want to hide other content that is too explicit for me.

I get it, Spotify wants to promote podcasts and content, but we desperately need a way to tell the algorithm when it's crossed a line, and to hide specific suggestions.

(Reposting this here since the last one i commented on was old and marked as not right now)

Hello,

I agree with this idea, as I think it would be create a more accurate list of recommended content, whether that’s music or podcasts.

With that said, I don’t understand why some users decide to communicate with entitlement, animosity, and disrespect. Spotify has ~200 million Premium subscribers. That they facilitated the ability for users to propose changes, and have a bureaucratic process that allows these ideas to potentially take effect is unusually generous, whether or not an idea materializes.

While I encourage you to continue to suggest improvements, keep in mind that Spotify is a platform meant to serve the entire community.

Best to you

My second most played song in my Spotify wrapped was a song a really dislike but it insists on playing it as a suggestion all the time. So many times that it reached second most played song of the year?!? Drives me mad every time I hear it and no way to just mark it as never to be played.
