[Social] Bring back Inbox/Messaging with Notifications

The Inbox/Messaging feature did not get a real shot at even being a feature because Spotify took away notifications for new messages. Give Inbox/Messaging some development so users can continue to privately share songs.

Whether it be only for premium users or be scaled to everyone, I feel like messaging the friends you have on Spotify, whether it be desktop or mobile, would be a great way to increase engagement and keep people sociable on the app, basically an in-app messenger where you can right-click and send a message or send a message through your friends profile.

Spotify used to have a way to send direct messages to users within spotify, to send songs and stuff. every user had an Inbox. They got rid of that feature when they incorporated Facebook features years ago. I wish they'd bring it back.

Happen to stumble across a hidden gem that you know your friend would love?  See that this friend is online?  Drag the song into "TuneShare", select your friend's name, and let them vibe!  I can't count the amount of times I've found myself mindlessly listening to my same two playlists over and over, knowing there's music to be discovered but not quite knowing where to discover it.  I also know the exciting feeling of finding a song I know my best friend would love, seeing that they're online, but having to inconveniently press out of the app, open up iMessages, and type out a message to share the song.  This chat-like feature would provide listeners with the ability to share the music they love the most with the people they love the most in the quickest and easiest way possible.

Very cool.  Way more efficient than copying and sending song links in a text.

Sharing song links to friends via social media is annoying.
There could be a feature in application that could do this. E.g "Share" -> "Share with a friend"

yes!! or everyone has a box that other people can drag and drop song recommendations in... could be turned on and off

when searching for playlists I often find people with whom I share the same music taste and would love to chat or thank them for their playlists but it's impossible. please consider something that will help to create a community of people who love music around the world!
