AI to silent explicit words across all content

Build an AI system to auto silence explicit words across all content but a focus on music. A silence would be the same approach taken in Texas Hold Em and would work well as a bleep would affect the song. Ideally you would be able to only silence the singer and the music could continue in the back but I would be ok with a full silence

I find this affects me as I turn off explicit content but not all artists have recorded two versions and with the increased popularity of streaming music its less essential for artists to do this so I am in effect being given a restricted library of songs. This approach would increase plays for artists and streams for Spotify.

I also find that if I turn off the, turn off explicit content to play a podcast I often forget to turn it back on until I hear an explicit lyric so maybe having two buttons one for music and one for audiobooks would help this problem if it were harder to implement an AI for podcasts as I would suggest the preference would be on music for starters.

Hope this helps!

Hi, I enjoy listening to news and podcasts but I wish there was a magic button that would detect F bombs and just mute them. And the S word.

Don’t over do it. no need to bleep out other words about sensitive topics that are just part of human life.

It would be great if Spotify introduced a feature that automatically censors or bleeps out explicit language in songs.
This could work as an optional setting — when enabled, Spotify would mute or replace offensive words during playback, similar to how it's done on radio or TV.

This feature would be especially useful:

  • When listening with kids

  • In cafes, shops, or other public spaces

  • If you want to listen song with people that shouldn't hear explicit words

No other major streaming services offer this yet, so it could be a unique and valuable addition to Spotify.

I am hoping for a feature that allows individual users to choose a word to have bleeped from a song. I know of the feature that allows you to choose between clean versions and explicit but that is not quite what I would like. For example if I were to want to remove the word “dog” from any song I listen to, I’d like to have that option while maintaining the rest of the content of the song as originally written.

Yes! This feature is needed so much! Even if I have to select the portions of audio to mute manually this feature would be so valuable. Right now if I want a truly clean version of some songs I have to get one from YouTube, which does not benefit Spotify or the artist.
