Ability to Change the Default Playlist for + button

A setting where you can choose a particular playlist as the default for adding liked songs. When you press the + button, it would say added to <playlist of choice> and then give you the option to change.

This would greatly simplify the process for adding liked songs when browsing music for a certain playlist or listening situation. It would be a small, yet appropriate fix to the + button requiring too many steps.

So I’ve been a long time Spotify user and have been very pleased with the continual improvements over the years, which is why I continue to use it and show my support, however.

I am one of those users that has a MILLION playlists (easily over 100) and like to organize songs that I hear, using all of the different lists I’ve created, so they are easy to consume later on.

Consequently, I think for me and potentially for other users like me, having the like button which by default adds the song your listening to, to your “Liked Songs” / “Library”, double as an the “Add to playlist” button when a user long presses the button would be fantastic.

I sometimes find it a bit tedious having to click the three little “dot” buttons at the top right to reveal the “Add to playlist” button to then only click through my folders so that the song hits the right playlist.

Making that first step of getting to all my different playlists by long pressing would make the Spotify experience much more enjoyable and efficient in my personal opinion.

Hopefully you guys AGREE!

Thanks~

@cullen995 I think double clicking the plus button achieves this.

Nah it's not the same, it lets you change what playlist it's added to but it's still several clicks to (on desktop)
- hit plus
- click "change"
- deselect "liked songs" playlist
- select preferred playlist
- click "done"

i just want one click to add to a specific playlist that isn't liked playlist

Yea I make a new playlist every year. So I would like to add all songs I find to "2025"

But I click and it goes to "liked" then I need to click to change the playlist.

Such an easy feature to add and they haven't done so

Allow us the ability to change what location songs go with the auto add button. Let us change it to a preferred playlist if we want. It's supposed to be a convenient quick add not a 3 step process.

Spotify is quite user-friendly, however, I would like to offer a suggestion regarding the adding a song to a specific playlist.

The current application, the 'Add' button, allows for the addition or deletion of a song under the 'Liked Songs' folder. Could it be possible to provide a shortcut that would allow us to select the playlist folder without having to do so in a three-step process each time?

Kind regards.

Please, 2025 and nothing changed: We need to be able to set the default playlist of my own for the "+" button, is annoying that the songs goes to the "Yours Likes",  I don't use that Playlist!

Right now, when you tap the “+” button, every song automatically goes into Liked Songs. This doesn’t work for a lot of us — not everyone uses Liked Songs as their main library.

Feature request: Add an option to set a custom default playlist.

  • For example, I could long-press my Good Songs playlist, select “Make Default Playlist,” and from then on, every time I hit “+” the track would go straight there.

  • Users could switch the default anytime by doing the same with another playlist.

  • Liked Songs would remain an option, but not forced as the default.

Why this matters:

  • Fewer steps → Right now we have to add → deselect Liked Songs → select the right playlist manually every time.

  • Safer while driving → Less distraction when you just want to save a track quickly.

  • Cleaner organization → Keeps Liked Songs optional instead of a giant, messy catch-all.

  • More personal → Everyone organizes differently, so letting us pick the default playlist makes the app feel tailored.

This is a small change with big quality-of-life impact.
