As a remote worker, I often have Spotify playing in the background to stay focused and create a productive atmosphere. Between meetings, I enjoy listening to music or podcast, but there are frequent moments – especially when I need to concentrate on writing messages or emails – where I have to pause the content entirely. This disrupts my workflow and creates a breaking focus.

Recently, I found that color noise or ambient sounds (like nature or coffee shop noises) help maintain concentration without being distracting. That’s the idea: what is Spotify have a color noise toggle– a feature that allows users to temporarily pause the main content while keeping a background noise playing?

This would allow for smoother transitions between active listening and focused work, without needing to search for a separate white noise, playlist or apps. It could be as simple as choosing a preferred ambient track that kicks in when you hit pause how you stay in the zone without breaking your flow.
