Feature Request: Car Mode – Allow Horizontal Orientation

Hi Spotify team,

When using Car Mode, it would be very helpful if the display could also adapt to horizontal (landscape) orientation.

Currently, Car Mode works well in portrait mode, but many users place their phones sideways when driving (in holders or mounts). Allowing Car Mode to switch into a landscape-friendly interface would:

• Improve visibility and readability of buttons and text.
• Make controls more ergonomic when the phone is mounted horizontally.
• Offer a safer experience for drivers, since it matches the orientation of most car screens.

Suggestion:

• Add an option in Settings → Car Mode → “Allow Horizontal Orientation”.
• Automatically adjust UI when the phone rotates, similar to how normal Spotify does.

This would make Car Mode much more versatile and user-friendly.
