App in Backround with Keybinds

A lot of us use Spotify while doing things on a laptop / PC. Was looking if there's any way to have a setting that allows keybinds to work while the app is in the backround. 

Yes some keyboards and devices have the ability to control the app as it is, but I think it would be cool to have a standard keyboard or some of those 80% keypads to have the ability to use the same function!

In my head it would be a setting which is not default on that you have to set as active, be able to change keybinds to what works with your devices, and enjoy being able to pause / play / set specific volume levels for quick volume or down rather than the incremental settings that are already in place.
