I currently have a family plan but am considering switching to another platform. Number one - do better with Content Filtering. Further, Create options for the content filters like: 1) video content (disable) 2) you tube access (disable) 3) explicit content filter for music 4) explicit content filter for podcasts 4) explicit content filter for graphic/video
Also please stop Recommending sexualized versions of genres you like!
And start categorizing the ASMR genre as pornographic content marked "E".
I am currently looking for other platforms where my kids can just listen to music. Right now Spotify is really terrible for them because I have the Content Filter on so protect them from the audio **bleep** they are constantly being served up (WHY?).
As a parent, I am okay with whatever music they listen to - that's why I got them a Spotify account - but somehow Spotify has become a gateway to explicit video online. My son listens to sleep apps but got offered audio **bleep** through asmr genre - this is all linked to photos and videos that are not filtered.
How did "raindrops on a roof" become "sucking c-ck by the fire"? This is really outrageous.
After days of telling the Spotify app that I don't want audio **bleep** ASMR for my 10-yr-old son (this involves doing a thumbs down on recommended content or going directly to the artist page and clicking "exclude from playing" or "don't link to my profile" - a truly maddening and Sisyphean process) he is still getting recommended podcasts like "May I Touch You" pictured below. The app knows his age, the content filter is on, we have a Family Plan.
Spotify is really failing at protecting kids. Do better!
