Black Label Releases

A New section on the home page or spotify owned artist profile. It would allow artists to publish new releases early, under a black label, without their name attached to the music whatsoever. The user would only be able to view the album cover and possibly release date, being able to filter solely by genre. The listener would not have the ability to skip songs, and only be provided the tracklist for viewing.

This feature could bring back the sense of discovery, mystery, and intentional listening that’s been lost in the streaming era. It would give artists a space to release anonymous or untitled music ahead of official drops—free from marketing, hype, or pressure.

It recreates the feeling of digging through a record store and taking a chance on something unknown. It’s about curiosity, attention, and reward. Albums can feature hidden endings for example, that are only available when listening to an album in full without skipping. The last song could go into „overtime“, with the songs timeline showing 0:00 and the song continuing past uty
