Create Your Own Radio

I'd like to propose an exciting idea that could greatly improve the Spotify user experience - the ability to create personalized radio stations by choosing two or more songs, artists, or playlists. This feature has the potential to transform the way we enjoy music on Spotify.

Here's the simple concept: users select a few songs, artists, or playlists they love, and Spotify automatically generates a unique radio station. This enables creative and personalized music curation. You can mix your favorite tracks, discover new music, and even share these custom radios with friends and family.

This feature not only enhances user engagement but also promotes music discovery, benefiting both listeners and artists on Spotify.

Please consider this suggestion as it empowers users to be their own DJs, taking ownership of their music experience.

It seems like the new AI in the app is trying to do this, but lets say you queue up 4 or 5 songs that you want to listen to and then you want more songs in the same style or vibe. Would be cool if you could just create a radio based off of those songs. Also, being specific about what kind of radio you want would be great. Being able to differentiate between the vibe of the song, or the genre, or era could enhance the feature.

When creating a radio playlist based on one particular song, I would love to see a text box asking what feature the playlist should focus on (e.g., the artist's songs, the genre, the drum pattern, or the guitar riff). Based on the response, the system would then create the desired playlist. Do you think that would be feasible?

I agree! I love the Song Radio or Artist Radio feature but I will say Spotify misses the mark.. by a mile. For example, somehow every personalized mix whether Radio or Daily Mix, Spotify never puts Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix on the same playlist for me, even though they appear together on many of the playlists I've made, which makes absolutely no sense!

Add a new “Create Mix” option to Spotify’s standard context menus:

In the player menu (⋮ while playing a track)

In the menus for track, album, single, and artist

The mix should be personalized, like AI DJ or “Mixes for You,” but created based on the specific track, artist, or album selected by the user.

❗ Why this is needed:

Currently, Spotify does not allow creating a mix from a track, album, or artist.

Users must manually search for similar playlists among millions of options — which is inconvenient and time-consuming.

The existing “Create Radio” feature is outdated and does not function as a personalized mix.

Radio often mixes up language, genre, or tempo, delivering random and irrelevant tracks.

A simple and modern alternative is needed — “Create Mix” directly from the menu, as a personalized AI playlist.
