Discovery level in personalized playlists

I would love to have a Discovery level option on Spotify.

Currently most of the songs on Daily Mixes or Autoplay are songs that I already liked. This is great but sometimes I am under the impression that the same songs are always shown to me and I wish to have the option to adjust the Discovery level, for example:

- High: high discovery would show more unknown songs that I could like, let's say around 70 percent of unknown songs and 30 percent liked ones.

- Normal: around 50% of liked/unknown songs.

- Low: this seem to be the current way Spotify works, showing around 70 or 80 percent of liked songs.

The new "Discovery level" option would influence Daily Mixes, Autoplay and Radio stations once defined by the user. The default option would be how things work today, but it would be very helpful give the users an option to define if they would like to discover more music.

I hope you may consider this idea and hopefully implement it soon.

Hi I would like to have playlists of varied songs. I am tired to receive always same genre in my discovery playlist, daily mix, etc. Can you do like Apple Music and suggest some songs from other genres, and if I like them cool if I don't well nevermind suggest another stuff.

While I would still much prefer Spotify provide an official setting, I have created a small service that lets you listen to song/artist radio without any personalization: https://spoqify.com/

Here's hoping it'll be obsolete soon! 🙂

well just for the record I want this too.  A setting where you can have a radio station in different modes, "Stuff I alrady like" mode and "discover new music" mode.

Pandora had this.

Doubtlessly, Spotify algorithms are insanely good, even too good sometimes. What if Spotify had a button to break the feedback loop to get some songs you don't normally listen to? Or what about that makes Spotify suggest a little more diverse songs than usually. Also it wouldn't be bad if it only suggested new songs you haven't heard before. Just thinking because there starts to be just a little bit too small amount of diversity in the suggestions I get.

I just posted a somewhat similar suggestion, if you have previously voted for this, consider voting again: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Idea-Submissions/Other-Prevent-playing-the-same-song-again-soon/idi...

The announcements never apply to a single artist that I follow, nor do they apply to my favorite genres (they are all hip hop and I prefer rock).  There should be a way to ensure that I get announcements on the artists I like and here about things in the genres I prefer.

I love how Spotify can create custom playlists/radios for me via the "Go To Radio" feature. I use it all of the time, especially with new songs that I discover. One enhancement I would love to see though is for Spotify to limit the number of songs that I have already "Liked" that can be included in this new radio. For example, there are times when I create a new radio of a song, and usually it only includes songs that I have already liked and thus this playlist is not offering me anything new. Spotify should instead recommend a different song from that artist or a similar but different artist. Thus, I would love to see a feature that says a "Go To Radio" custom playlist can only include up to 3 or 5 songs from any of my Liked Songs or songs that are already included in playlists of mine.

TLDR:  algorithm for enhance to offer more precise music

I really enjoy the enhance feature, however when creating some playlist, I'm not looking for similar genre or "sound."

Would it be possible for an option for when creating a playlist, someone can pick the intent/motivation of the playlist? Example:  genre, sound/grove/vibe, lyrics/feel, etc. This way an algorithm can seek songs not only matching the uses taste, but the feel/mood they are going for with that playlist.

Often I am trying to go for a certain feel or mood with a playlist and an artist may have a song that is perfect, but their others / other artist like them, are not. So what happens is I get slammed with suggestions which don't help (even if I like the song).
