Fix the awful shuffle

When I think of the word shuffle I think I will listen to every song in my playlist before I hear the same one again. Not for Spotify, they think it means play whatever songs they want. Even if you skip it everytime it still plays before a song I haven’t heard in a year. Give us a shuffle that plays every song before it repeats. Switch it up, I don’t want to hear the same 10 songs to start my shuffle everytime I reopen the app and start listening again.

I have a premium subscription and this started happening to me to an extreme.  It keeps playing the same songs over and over again.  I keep skipping them until a new song comes on.  Then it goes back to the same songs I skipped.

The only thing that probably will make them fix this joke is massive de-subscription. Why still paying for an app that doesn't work properly and devs dont have any will to adress the issues

I am so tired of the shuffle catastrophe. From a programming POV, randomly generating a list of songs from a playlist is crazy simple. I can only imagine that this issue has persisted as long as it has is because Spotify doesn't use a true shuffle, they want to promote certain artists. Maybe these artists' songs are cheaper for Spotify to play or something. I don't know. But I do know is that any random music player has a better shuffle feature than Spotify and I know that for the $20 per/mo (family plan) that I've been paying for several years I could have purchased the CD albums for all of my songs.

So, if I stop paying Spotify and start buying my music on CD's, I can save money AND get a proper shuffle of my playlists? Spotify, you should pay attention to this!

This is a MUST, If I press shuffle, I want it to shuffle the playlist entirely, no favoritism for any popular songs.

I hadn't used spotify until recently (couple years, off and on), but had heard that their shuffle is better than yt, so I have been trying it and that is a lie.  I'd say it's the same or worse than yt.  I guess Apple next.

Yeah, the shuffle feature is horribly broken. If I have literally hundreds of songs on a playlist, I shouldn't keep hearing the same fifteen or twenty songs over and over. It's ridiculous, everyone complains about it, and yet Spotify does nothing to address it.

Yes.  I switched to Apple and it's much better.  I think it's the best of all of them, and has the best quality sound.  I'm not as fond of their interface as much as spotify, but I'll take better shuffle and better sound quality any day.
