Free audiobook listening time for all Premium members

While I'm grateful for the move to bring audiobooks to Spotify, the exclusive benefit of free audiobooks for the "plan manager" in duo and family memberships seems unjust. It diminishes the premium experience for other members who pay the same amount as their friends and family but don't enjoy the full premium benefits.

I acknowledge the cost-effectiveness of duo and family memberships, but the solution to a fairer listening experience could be to distribute the 15 hours among all members in your party. This way, duo members, for instance, would get 7.5 hours free—a reasonable compromise for the reduced cost.

It ensures fairness to all users and gives users the option to customise their audiobook time based on their plan size and budget.

Hi guys, suggest you also post on social media eg X as it would appear only way to get their attention.i am considering cancelling altogether as feel they are really scamming people especially when compared to other entertainment media companies.

Your Duo plan is very deceptive. Both members should have equal access to all of its benefits, including audio books. Very disappointed!

At the moment, you allowed 15h free for audio books. But for the accounts “family premium” it’s only allowed for the owner of the account. Why not allowed all the family even for only 15h free/ month.
my husband is the owner of the account and he doesn’t want the audio books but we wants!

thanks a lot!

I agree with this idea so much! It's pretty ridiculous that it's only the plan manager that gets access to those listening hours. Also there is a "request hours" button when a plan member tries to access an audiobook, but the plan manager isn't able to accept that request, so that feature is moot. Not sure why they even have the button there.

Honestly it's a bit of a joke, and I do believe it steps over into false advertising - as tabithaw states, they explicitly market the Duo plan as 2x Premium plans, but that's just not the case. The claim is false, no matter what features the terms of the Duo plan negate. Make it make sense Spotify!

We are going to cancel our family subscription because of the audiobook rules restricting access to only one person - the plan manager.  Even if we could designate one person to have audiobook access that would be better.

Absolutely stupid way to manage Premium Duo/Family accounts. I fully expected that both people on Duo got the exact same service. I have a Netflix account, another person in the house can login and set up their own profile and access everything I, the account holder, can.

Very strange way to treat paying customers - some are obviously more 'premium' than others!

Agree or even an hour time limit per subscription month would be great.

Yes agree. It is really unreasonable and misleading.

So glad this feedback is here and agree as well! My husband and I have a Duo Premium account, and he until recently was using audible credits for audiobooks & while I use Spotify for audiobooks (I am the plan manager).

We just realized he can't even access audiobooks available with premium, just because he is not the plan manager. Since we equally pay for the Premium membership, and would also pay the additional fees for more listening time if needed, we wanted to send feedback that this seems like a product improvement.

Both members should have equal access to all of its benefits, including audio books!
