Free audiobook listening time for all Premium members

While I'm grateful for the move to bring audiobooks to Spotify, the exclusive benefit of free audiobooks for the "plan manager" in duo and family memberships seems unjust. It diminishes the premium experience for other members who pay the same amount as their friends and family but don't enjoy the full premium benefits.

I acknowledge the cost-effectiveness of duo and family memberships, but the solution to a fairer listening experience could be to distribute the 15 hours among all members in your party. This way, duo members, for instance, would get 7.5 hours free—a reasonable compromise for the reduced cost.

It ensures fairness to all users and gives users the option to customise their audiobook time based on their plan size and budget.

Another vote for this suggestion!

Especially with Spotify soon raising prices for Premium Family by 20%, it's ridiculous to keep the complementary audiobook credits limited to the Plan Owner.

At the very least, along with the price hike, the audiobook credits should be extended to all Plan Members.

I am our family plan manager, and I never listen to audiobooks because it doesn't suit my learning style, but my daughter loves them. So I have these 15 free audio hours included in our plan that I can never use, while she desperately wants to listen to books, and I have to pay more for that? Doesn't make sense at all. At least let me assign my hours to her.

I saw that Audible told me that audiobooks were included with my premium membership. It didn’t mention that I wouldn’t be able to finish the book. I got about halfway through the book, was invested, and then it told me that I would have to pay to listen to more. I did the math in my head and it would cost me $36 to finish the book. I could buy it on any other website for less than half that..  Don’t state that it’s included with my membership if it’s not really included.  I’m a big Spotify fan and honestly, this is pretty annoying.

Currently there is no way to swap the managing member on a duo plan so the second member added to a plan doesn't have access to audio book listening time. This makes no sense. If I have been a member for years, and want to add my wife to the account so she can listen to audio books we can't. With the current popularity of audio books this seems to be a big desire for a feature.

Would you please consider adjusting the settings here? It would be awesome if they could listen to them as well.

Came here to comment the exact same. It is nonsensical to allow one premium member a premium experience, leaving all other premium members shortchanged. This effectively puts each individual family member on a different hidden 'tier' level leading to feelings of unfairness and arguments! A fun application like this should be celebrated by all, instead of creating divisions. I can get on board with the idea of sharing the allowance across users, with the option to top up when needed- it would be a very simple and effective solution.

I would pay more right now to allow another family member access to audiobooks but was told today by Spotify that it is 'not possible in my region'. Basically like walking into a shop trying to hand over my hard earned money to buy their product and they wont let me! Madness.

The whole point of duo account is that it's shared. So the fact that one user has audiobook time and the other not - doesn't make sense.

Let's have the total audiobook time shared or each user enjoy 8 hours or so.

Please allow everyone on the family plan to use the audiobook hours not just the manager

If the managing member is not interested in using the 15 hours of listening, they should be able to transfer the hours to other family members. We are paying to have this feature for one listener but our manger doesn’t like audio books. The only solution offered is to cancel our membership to change managers but that would be a hassle.
