It's possible I'm listening to music in a way that's unusual, but the way I usually use Spotify is by listening from one of my two playlists that are decently big (3,000+ songs) that are made up by me adding entire albums of the bands I like and listen to frequently.
Usually I'll just throw it on shuffle and listen to whatever plays (which gives me my own frustrations with Spotify shuffle, because it says it's completely random but it sure seems like the same songs/artists I've been listening to routinely show up more often, but whatever) but one thing I always find myself wanting is the ability to shuffle through my playlists where Spotify plays an album from first track to last, the randomly starts another album from the same playlist.
You could have a "hold 3 seconds to skip" feature where it will skip to the next album for people using it in the car to prevent the distraction of having to click skip 10 times for an album you don't want to listen to.
I find myself wanting something like this on long drives where I don't want to mess with my phone but also don't want to deal with creating a playlist just for a single trip. I thought of this a while back when they first introduced the AI DJ and I really liked the idea of having a digital DJ to break things up. The problem was. The Spotify suggestions were not very much in line with what I wanted to hear at times, so it was just a bigger distraction than a help. If I could tell the DJ to just select from my designated playlists and podcasts that would actually make for a cool addition to long drives.
