Linking two (or more) tracks to play consecutively in a playlist in shuffle mode

Plan Premium

Device iPhone 13, iPad 2023; Macbook Air 2024; iMac 2021

Operating System MacOS 15.4

We listeners need to be able to link tracks to play consecutively in a playlist when in shuffle mode. I see this request has been asked before but it’s been a few years. What do we need to do to get this functionality to occur?

I write at this moment because I was just listening to XTC’s “Summer’s Cauldron” when a non-XTC song came next and totally ruined my listening experience! Their song “Grass” should have been next. They are practically one song.

There are so many songs that need to stay together, such as:

• These Beatles songs from Abbey Road: Mean Mr Mustard, Polythene Pam, She Came in Thru the Bathroom Window

• Robert Palmer’s Sailing Shoes, Hey Julia, and Sneakin’ Sally

• Dandy Warhols’ Country Leaver and Solid.

• And naturally, Queen’s We Will Rock You with We Are the Champions

It’s torture when intimately connected songs aren’t played together. Being able to manually link songs together in a playlist would make listening to our favorite music a much more pleasurable experience. We wouldn’t be jarred out of our reveries.

Dear Spotify, whom I enjoy so much: what do you need in order to give us listeners what we need? Thank you for your consideration.
