Mark / Disable AI Generated Songs

The platform is increasingly flooded with AI-generated songs (especially the Release Radar), making it harder for users to discover authentic, human-created music. To improve the listening experience, Spotify should introduce a clear label for AI-generated songs and provide an option to filter them out entirely.

@Spotify: you're wasting a lot of money by paying out AI "Artists". It should be in your interest to get rid of them.

Garmiir

Time to add an AI filter or at least allow to community to "tag" something as AI. There are too many of these enterely AI-generated bands flooding the radio and recommendations.

LottaOnmyway

AI hurts real artists. Too many fake songs, so this is important.

I have a Spotify subscription for many years now. And despite the ever ongoing and incomprehensible omission of smart playlists, and the feeling that the share of my subscription that goes to the creatives and representatives should end up in the corner of those that I am listening to, I'm still hanging in there. But this (in my case recent) upsurge of AI trash hijacking the names of artists (and mucking up the Release Radar f.e.) might be the last straw. I mean, why can such a renowned platform not even counter this abuse of its own property? Why is there no affirmation needed from the artist and/or representatives in question? And why would this even have to be pointed out in this community? Which I am sure will sink anonymously amongst the millions that do not bother to speak out. Still, shame on your company for not anticipating, nor showing your integrity in this matter, by own volition.

They need to have this checkbox or people will leave Spotify. Been a member for 5 years, but discover weekly and Release radar have 20 AI generated songs out of 30. It's so annoying hearing the same robotic voice over and over again.

In 2025 it's just on another level and it should be fixed ASAP.

People use bots not only to create this music, but to upload and play the music too. They are rewarded by way reach and algorithmic plays and steal money from the artist pool and from Spotify itself. AI music isn’t completely bad as long as it’s done for the premise itself and with transparency. There are creative themes that can be done with AI music but there are too many AI artists that pass themselves off as actual artists and they are ruining the whole ecosystem.

Korpse

Out of the 30 songs in my Discover Weekly playlist this week, 5 were AI-generated. I've been looking for an option to filter these out ever since I found the first few at the end of last year - there's enough real music getting created without Spotify encouraging AI-generated slop

FDDB

AI music should be labelled as such PERIOD.
Either by self-reporting of the uploader and/or usually using AI to detect AI music.
Keep on getting bland AI stuff in my feed, if this keeps on happening I am outta here...
I realise that AI music, self-produced by Spotify or not, is a revenue stream but come on at least be transparent about it Spotify!

JaggityJag

100% agree. There must be transparency now regarding AI generated music. A clear sign/stamp of AI generated music making it very clear for the consumer/listener.

I almost feel like AI music should be in its own platform entirely. It seems massively disrespectful to the work musicians put into making music to add AI alongside them, it makes no sense to me.

Also, is there a difference in profits for AI music or is that making the same as humans? I would assume these AI's don't make any money, right?

Setsuki

Yes please! My Discover Weekly and Release Radar is increasingly flooded by bad AI generated songs. They're very obvious and very much not what I want to listen to. I am finding it really disruptive to my listening experience. If I wanted to listen to AI music, I would head over to Suno where everything there is AI and listen to it. On top of that, real artists are losing revenue over this. I pay money to Spotify because I want the artists I like to at least make something!
