Mix Feature - Adjusting the play count logic

Hello,

I’m a music enthusiast, data analyst and DJ. I’m really excited about the new Mix Feature, it’s a great addition! However, I noticed a situation that might be worth improving.

On Thursday (09/25/2025), while testing the feature, I created a set with 10 electronic tracks. I customized every transition, which meant testing different configurations for each song, sometimes dozens of times, until I found the perfect ones.

When I later requested my Spotify usage data, I saw that every single test was counted as a play. As a result, my Top 10 Songs of 2025 is now filled with 8 tracks from that set, some of which I had actually never listened to outside of this test.

My suggestion is: while customizing transitions in the Mix screen, those tests should not count as official plays. This would give a more accurate picture of listening habits.

To illustrate, I’ve included:

2 - Example of musics played in the mix feature on 09/25/2025;
