Please Add a “Music-Only Mode”

Hi Spotify Team and Community,

I’ve been a Premium subscriber for over 10 years. Spotify has been my primary music platform throughout that entire time, and I’ve recommended it to countless friends and colleagues.

Recently, however, I’ve been increasingly frustrated with the growing emphasis on video content in the Home feed.

I want to be clear:

I am not against video as a feature. I understand that Spotify is expanding and evolving as a platform.

What concerns me is the lack of user control.

As a paying Premium subscriber, I would like the option to use Spotify strictly as a music platform — without video recommendations dominating the Home experience. Right now, there is no way to disable or opt out of this content globally.

For users like me, who primarily use Spotify for music discovery, playlists, and daily listening, the shift toward video feels intrusive and misaligned with why we subscribed in the first place.

This isn’t just a minor UI preference. It affects the overall experience of the product.

If a simple “Music-Only Mode” toggle existed, this wouldn’t be an issue.

Autonomy is what’s missing.

I’m genuinely considering canceling my subscription over this — not because I dislike Spotify, but because the experience no longer reflects how I want to use the platform.

I hope this feedback is taken seriously.

Many long-time users value Spotify for its music-first identity.

Please give us the choice.

I would dearly love to turn off the video thingy playing and have it stick. I turn Canvas off over and over and it keeps toggling back on, which I find out after I've already started driving and can't stop to interact with my phone.

I never look at any of the video things. I have no problem with other people doing that - they should have the option - but I most commonly use Spotify to play things while I'm working, driving, or otherwise doing something that requires me to look at what I'm doing and not at a screen, so the videos are absolutely wasted on me!

And I shouldn't be wasting bandwidth on something I don't care for and am not using.

I understand that Spotify wants to promote non-music elements, but I don't want that. And I don't want to see podcasts, video podcasts, and audio books in my standard Spotify view ("all"). Give me an option to disable**bleep** or have me auto start Spotify in the "music" tab if you must. I am not paying you to be consistently pestered with audio features I don't want from you.

I don't mind that you are pushing podcasts, audio books and the personal DJ feature, but please: let me control in settings if I ever have to see that feature again!

I am not interested in any of these and your constant pushing them into my line of sight is just annoying. Try to be less annoying!
