Podcast Bonus Episode Filtering

Dear Spotify,

I really enjoy using Spotify to listen to my favorite podcasts. However, I’ve noticed a challenge when it comes to filtering podcast episodes. Some podcasts include bonus episodes that are exclusive to premium subscribers.

It would be incredibly helpful to have an option to filter out bonus episodes for users who cannot access them. This would make it easier to focus on the episodes that are available.

Or only show bonus episodes. There are premium podcasts which only put out shorter teaser clips for free which you wouldn't want in your queue/notifications. Should be an easy feature since yo already have the bonus tag and filtering options.

When subscribed to a podcast with multiple tiers to their patreon all the available content shows on Spotify including the locked content. I believe there should be a toggle/filter to hide locked content if desired.

Allow for these subscriber-only episodes to be filtered out (just like you can filter to show only unplayed episodes).

I can see how there may be value for some to be able to see what content would be available if they subscribe to a podcast - but - it doesn't need to clutter up the episode listing all of the time!

I use Spotify premium on iPhone primarily. I pay for a family premium plan. 

Recently some podcasts are showing locked episodes etc that require an enhanced subscription to the podcaster. 

Redhanded podcast has locked bonus content that require a Wondery+ subscription. 

I have no plans to subscribe to yet another provider. So I really want to not have to see these locked tracks, as they make it seem like I have unplayed tracks. 

Please let me filter out locked bonus content.

I pay for premium. I'm annoyed by the ads that are somehow allowed in podcasts despite paying for premium. This seems to be a settled topic despite my misgivings.

Today I opened Spotify and saw an episode of one of my favorite podcasts had a lock icon on it. To get access I would have to pay a new subscription in addition to premium. This is absurd. Please remove episodes we don't have access to from the list or get folks access via premium. Upselling folks already paying for premium is how you get folks to question the value premium - something many folks pay for without thinking about today.

Hard agree. Still wondering why I hear ads all the time when I pay for premium. Now I'm listening to a podcast only to be told the next episodes are locked and directing me to go to another site to pay their membership fee to keep listening. What a joke.

Have a scroll for a different podcast and SO MANY are also locked, pending signing up to another membership fee outside Spotify. What am I paying premium for? Need to add an option to block locked episodes, although at this rate, I'm doubting there'll be anyone left on this platform to care. Ads, limited audio book listening, and now limited podcast episodes on a premium account? Not what I want to pay for.

I'm about to completely cancel my Spotify over this. Free podcasts that I regularly listen to have started releasing premium content and it shows up as locked episodes in my feed. There is no way to remove these from my feed. You cannot click on them and select" Mark as played" because the option doesn't exist when you click on it. So my feed fills up with locked episodes and whenever I do want to listen to a podcast episode, I have to filter through all these locked episodes to find the ones that aren't behind a paywall. I use Spotify mainly for listening to podcasts, and it's almost become unusable at this point. I'm going to give it another 2 weeks, and if there isn't a solution, I'm canceling Spotify after being a long-time user. This just sucks now.

I recently noticed some of the podcasts I listen to have started adding bonus episodes that I’m unable to listen to without subscribing

When I try to find a podcast episode I was halfway through listening to or select the next one in the list, I used to sort by Oldest and filter only Unplayed episodes, but now that just shows old bonus episodes

Please could you add a filter that allows me to only see Unplayed episodes that are not bonus episodes so I can easily select the next episode or an episode I was previously listening to

It’s frustrating that bonus episodes I can’t listen to are now showing up in the Unplayed list.

I use the “Unplayed” + “Oldest” sort to continue podcasts in order, but now it’s cluttered with locked bonus content I didn’t subscribe to and can’t access.

Please add a way to hide bonus episodes from the list. I just want to easily find the next playable episode without sorting through stuff I can’t even listen to.

I'm about to cancel and switch over to a free service because of this change. It's just constant spam and annoyance on this platform.
