Removing items from Recently Played history

I would also like it if we had the option to remove our recently played history because sometimes I would listen to someone's playlist, an artist, or one of my own playlists by accident and I don't really listen to the playlist or artist anymore or I already have a song by that artist and it doesn't make sense to keep it in my library or recently played history.

Can't believe they acknowledged this in 2021 and still don't care to implement. I just want to delete this one song from my history that Google assistant accidentally played

I would love this. I listen to Spotify when I go to bed on some ambient rain music, and now my DJ plays ambient rain music all the time. I swear like every other DJ section now I have to skip through several ambient rain tracks. It's almost made my DJ unusable. My only potential solution right now would be to use a different music platform for the ambient music and use Spotify for normal music, but I'd assume you'd want me on your platform full time.

Come on Spotify, please acknowledge and implement this request. I listen to americana, folk, and folk/country for the most part. Google Home mis-heard something on the TV and decided to play 47 songs from This is Selena playlist silently overnight before I caught it. There really should be a way for me to remove that entire set from my history.

Hello Spotify Support,

I’m a regular Spotify user and really enjoy the platform. I’m reaching out to kindly request the addition of a feature that would allow users to clear or manage the “Recently Played” section, especially on the desktop and web versions.

Currently, it seems there is no way to remove playlists or albums from this area, which can sometimes be frustrating—especially if I played something once out of curiosity or during a private moment.

Having more control over our listening history—such as the ability to hide or delete items from this section—would be a small but meaningful improvement to the user experience.

Thank you for your time and for constantly improving Spotify. I hope this feedback can be considered for a future update!

Best regards,
Ensar

In a gesture of good will, on a long road trip, I played an artist for my Mum in the car. Now,  I do not wish to see this artist on my playlist (very different from my usual choices). I am disappointed and frustrated with Spotify that the simple option to delete 1 or all of my history is not available. This request has now been running for many years, please sort this out.

Is there any update on this? The minimum amount of votes was reached years ago, and the feature is still not there to delete songs from the history.

I requested a particular song from Alexa and the result was a playlist of an artist I never heard before and upon discovering their content did not align my interests and content I wanted them immediately removed from history and content permanently. However, excluding them is not enough as it was a mistake.

This is dumb. I found a fix - delete your account & start again .. or move on to another service.

Im going to delete and unsubscribe from this stupid ass app because of this fundamental feature. This is the dumbass thing I've seen.

This is an *essential* feature if you're going to track history. My child has listened on my account and found age-inappropriate content that I'd like to remove. Regardless of the conversation we had, there *must* be the ability to remove past history so it's they're not encouraged to revisit it.
