Separate Monthly Listeners for Solo Songs vs. Collaborations

Status: Live Idea

Right now, Spotify includes all songs an artist is credited on — including collaborations and featured tracks — when calculating monthly listeners.

This makes it hard to know how many listeners are coming from an artist’s own solo music, versus features on someone else’s song. For example, a smaller artist featured on a viral hit might have inflated stats, even if their solo tracks don’t get much attention.

My suggestion: Spotify should display two separate stats for each artist:

1. Total Monthly Listeners (as it is now)

2. Solo-Only Monthly Listeners (based only on tracks where the artist is the main and only credited name)

This would give a more accurate picture of each artist’s actual pull with their own music and would be great for fans, industry watchers, and fair comparisons.

Please consider this for more transparency!
