Setting up a 2-step factor authentication to better secure your account

To enhance account security, I suggest adding an option for 2-step verification (2FA), such as via an authentication app or SMS. Many other major platforms already offer this, and it's a simple yet effective way to prevent unauthorized access, especially in cases of password leaks or phishing attempts.

Given how much personal data and listening history is tied to a Spotify account—not to mention payment details for Premium users—having an added layer of protection would give users greater peace of mind.

I hope the Spotify team can consider this as a high-priority feature for future updates. Thanks!

My account has been logged into on 2 different occasions by someone across the country. I’ve changed my password and logged out everywhere but somehow, they came back. I think a 2 step verification system would be wonderful, it could prevent things like this from happening.

+1 for 2FA. How is it 2025 and we don't have a way to add any sort of 2FA yet other than that default email code? What is happening Spotify devs? I have been a premium user for years and this is one of the biggest turn offs when considering continuing my subscription on a feature that 99% of other apps have. Allowing us to setup 2FA via an auth app or BETTER YET, a YubiKey, is a must have.
