I’d like to propose a new feature called Sound Maps.

What it is
Sound Maps would let users (only if they consent) share the song they’re currently listening to on a live map. Other listeners nearby could tap on the map to see what’s playing around them in real time.

Key interactions

• Like → show appreciation for someone’s track.

• Share Your Song → instantly connect with listeners nearby who are into the same vibe or genre.

• Recommend Similar Tracks → Spotify suggests songs to a user based on what’s trending around them.

Why this matters

• Adds a fun, community-driven way to discover music that’s popular locally.

• Helps people find others with similar music tastes, creating micro-communities around genres and places.

• Strengthens Spotify’s identity not just as a streaming app but also as a music discovery network.
