Support Disabling "Canvas" setting as parental controls on a family account

Sometimes these canvas videos are inappropriate, even on songs not marked as explicit. I want to be able to disable this feature on accounts in my family plan. See https://www.technipages.com/change-canvas-settings-on-spotify for how to do this on one account. I know there's canvas content policy, but each family's discretion might be different than how the creator/moderators flag these videos.

Hello @SashaBishop!

I marked your idea as a New Suggestion. Thanks for bringing your feedback to the Spotify Community. I'd recommend checking out this article for more info on how the Ideas Exchange is managed.

Have a nice day 🙂

My family values Spotify's service of providing access to a vast library of streaming music. Sincerely, thank you for offering such a service.

It could also be better. Along with other big tech companies like Meta and Google and Apple, I am deeply disturbed by Spotify's subtle yet distinct evasion of responsibility for how the architecture of its product undermines the mental health of users, particularly young people who are more susceptible to using these services in an addictive and harmful way. Specifically, I am angry that Spotify has made a variety of video content available to users without the option of disabling video across an entire family plan. More broadly, Spotify's account-level settings options are woefully inadequate to empower parents to customize their children's Spotify experience. I am one of a growing number of angry parents who feel hoodwinked and manipulated for other people's profit.

Please do not patronize me by directing me to a link on how to disable videos on individual users' accounts. Don't bury your head in the sand. Do less harm. Shame on Spotify. You can do better. It would be technically easy, though perhaps challenging to curb your corporate thirst for financial profit.

Please, for the love of our children, consider the ethics, or dare I say your moral obligation to other humans, and make meaningful change to your product.
