The ability to disable the Jam function.

Ok so Jam function seems incredibly odd to begin with, but I suppose in a rare instance where you want to listen to love songs with someone who's far away at the exact same time, or you're running a silent Disco, there might be a use for it for a very small number of people.

But there should be an option to disable it in your settings. Let's start with the hypothetical scenario that I don't want to run into: A crazy ex or a stalker trying to send me their sad playlist everyday. Also, and possibly more frustrating, is the automatic prompt that comes of when you and another person listening to Spotify are on the same Wi-Fi. Why am I being sent an unprompted question without an invitation from another user in my home or business if I would like to join and listen to exactly what they're listening to at the same time. If I happen to want that, would I not just play the music aloud? We obviously already started listening to what we want to listen to on our own devices by ourselves, so why would I suddenly want to listen to exactly what they want to listen to?  Automatically searching for users on the same Wi-Fi seems crazy intrusive to me what if we're on a public Wi-Fi at a mall? How many prompts would you'd be receiving to join? Anyway I don't mind if this crazy feature (that I'm willing to bet a Year's membership that under 5% of users use monthly) stays on the app,  I just want the ability to turn it off so it doesn't bother me while I'm listening to music by myself.

Completely agree with the... strong dislike (trying to be nice) of this feature as displayed in these comments. It is beyond me how this feature got past UX and went live. I was shocked to find no option to turn this off in the settings. It should so OBviously be opt-in, not opt-out. Please move this fix to the top of your queue.

Also, sidebar, while writing this comment, a pop-up interrupted me to ask me if I'd take a survey on this forum. Really, Spotify? What are you doing over there?? You've got the best recommendation algorithm in music and I've been a paying customer for years, but you're losing my confidence. Go for a walk, drink more water, and talk with a therapist, you gotta figure your ish out.

How many votes does this still need for spotify to change? Spotify jam is nice when users have the ability to control when to start a jam. I simply don't understand why a jam starts automatically when I'm listening to spotify when I'm also on call with someone. I don't need them to hear my music too. It's really annoying and I wish we could disable it.

Super annoying that this "feature" can't be turned off.

This feature is an invasion of privacy.  Please remove ASAP or allow disable of this function.  I am considering moving away from Spotify after 7+ years being a member simply because of this feature you added without any thought about how anybody would like it or not.

i second you!!! i am now living in a hotel and everyone connects to the same wifi network. Everytime, i load up spotify, there are 30+ devices on my jam list that i have no idea who they are!!!!. And it is bringing down my device performance, my device started stuttering if i open spotify!!!  Plus, i get sudden stop in my music very frequently! i think it's somehow related!

There should be a button in the setting to let people turn it on and off! not forced on!

I live at school and theres a shared wifi. Other students jam sessions keeps popping up on my phone. Even when i decline by pressing the “not now” button, the same persons jam session pops up almost every ten seconds. Please just remove the jam session and revive the group session option or make them customisable so that people can chose what functions they want in the app.

As someone who has been using Spotify for 15 years, I'm heavily debating leaving and switching because of this feature alone.

My creepy ass landlord was invited to a jam with me. There needs to be an option to disable this

Agreed, I'm on a shared WiFi at gym and other people are joining my jam and playing thier tunes through my headphones, it's ridiculous that you can't disable it.

this is despicable, if i ever meet the developer who made this i'm going to slap them. add a setting to disable this now, or Apple Music gets my subscription. 30 days, spotify.
