Using Spotify in Split-Screen Mode Is Overwhelming, It Deserves Better Accessibility

I'm a UX/UI designer and a neurodivergent user who is particularly sensitive to information overload. I often use Spotify on desktop with the window resized to 50% of the screen, especially when I'm multitasking like creating playlists or discovering new music while browsing the web. However, in this smaller layout, the interface becomes visually cluttered and overwhelming. Key elements like the song title, volume control, and player buttons get cramped or cut off, making it hard to navigate or use comfortably.

My feedback is to improve the layout and spacing when the app is resized. Separating elements more clearly and optimizing the structure for smaller screen sizes would significantly enhance usability and reduce cognitive overload. Thanks for considering feedback!

Hello,

Thanks for sharing your thoughtful feedback — it’s both valuable and clearly expressed, especially given your expertise as a UX/UI designer and your lived experience as a neurodivergent user. At this reduced size, the interface becomes visually cluttered, with key elements like the song title, player controls, and volume slider getting cramped or truncated. This significantly impacts usability and contributes to cognitive fatigue, making the experience harder to manage for users who are sensitive to overwhelming visual stimuli.

Best Regard,

Helen
