VibeFlow: Merge Music. Make Memories

Status: Live Idea
0 Likes

Problem:

Collaborative playlists on Spotify can get messy quickly, with songs that don’t fit the vibe being added without any control. While the Blend feature is great for combining tastes, it lacks a way to approve or reject songs to keep the playlist consistent.

Solution:

Introducing VibeFlow — a prototype I created that brings pull request vibes to Spotify playlists.

Features:

Song Requests: Collaborators can suggest songs for a shared playlist.

Approval System: The playlist owner can approve, reject, or comment on these suggestions to maintain the vibe.

Vibe Tags: Optional tags like “Chill,” “Hype,” or “Late Night” can be added to explain how a song fits.

Comments: A lightweight comment option for explaining why a song does or doesn’t fit.

Why This Could Work:

Control Without Complexity: Keeps the playlist clean without making the process too complicated.

Enhanced Collaboration: Makes building playlists a more thoughtful and engaging experience.

User Demand: Many users want more control over collaborative playlists to avoid vibe mismatches.

Prototype:

I built a prototype on Lovable using prompt engineering to test out the idea. You can check it out here - VibeFlow Prototype

Question:

Is this something Spotify users would actually want, or is it just people like me who care about protecting the vibe? 🎶

Would love to hear your feedback! 🚀

Best,

Junaid D.
