Fraud streaming activities on Spotify to artificially boost streams and charting performance

Fraud streaming activities on Spotify to artificially boost streams and charting performance

I think it's really important for a platform that exists solely through streaming, to make sure that no fraudulent advantage is allowed to one artist over another to manipulate streaming numbers and charting positions. One artist in particular who has committed this fraudulent behavior is Jin from BTS, as you can see from the screenshots below, THREE versions of his album were released at a later date after the initial release date, these albums aren't solely released for 'remixes' the also feature the original tracks which can be used for fraudulent streaming practices carried out by his fanbase. So essentially it's 5 different versions of the same song being combined to fraudulently boost streams and charting performance.

According to Spotify's policy, one single song can only be streamed 20x per account per tracking period, but with 5 different versions this means his new 'don't say you love me' is being streamed 100x per day. Is this not incredibly unfair to literally every single other artist on the platform?

I genuinely don't understand how and why this is being allowed and why Spotify hasn't cracked down on this fraudulent behavior that compromises artist integrity. The same issue has been prevalent with another member of his group, Jimin of BTS, Whose song 'WHO' was artificially boosted using the same method of releasing multiple album versions with multiple song versions to combine and stream farm. Spotify has been deleting millions of streams from this song, but instead of doing that, why not just...ban fraudulent behavior like this?

NO artist should be allowed to release more than one standard version of a song, unless it's explicit and needs a clean version released. And obviously singles that are then rereleased as part of full albums. This is the standard release/streaming pattern that should be followed. These two artists and their labels (HYBE and Geffen) should be held accountable and Spotify needs to put a ban on the practice of releasing multiple versions for inorganic streaming practices.

Please interact with this post so we can draw attention and urge Spotify to take immediate action and ban fraud streaming practices, for the sake of every artist's integrity.

Nice find. I wonder how many artists artificially inflate their numbers for traction.

This is nothing compared to ROSE from Blackpink having 100 covers with the same ISRC code. This is done with many western artists too but no one says a thingโ€Œโ€Œ.๐Ÿค”
