It's hard to say what exactly is the shortest song I have, since so many of them are really just weird intros to other songs, so I'm not sure if they count. Snapshot by Art of Noise at 01:03 is probably the shortest that feels like a real song (but only just), although I have loads of tracks which are shorter than that (the shortest is five seconds long). I'm not saying Snapshot is any good though, it's just the shortest!

Longest song is much easier to find — Light of Day, Day of Darkness by Green Carnation (01:00:06). Bit of an imposing track length, but a very varied song with a lot going on in it, partly about a member of the band seeing his daughter dying and his son being born. Certainly something interesting to listen to, although you need to have a spare hour(!)
