Geography in the song title playlist

Geography in the song title playlist

What songs would be in your geography themed playlist (city, state, country, etc.) in the title? This really combines my love of geography/travel with music. Here is mine:

a few backstories:

Indonesia - this song is about a Christian missionary to a remote tribe in Indonesia, David Clapper, married, father of 4, who died in a plane crash while he was returning from the hospital after dropping off a patient from the tribe. His plane crashed into the side of a mountain (in Indonesia). This song is a tribute to him. Love the song & meaning and the passion behind it.

Sedona - this song reminds me of a family vacation to Arizona a few years back. We flew into Phoenix late afternoon. By the time we got to our hotel in Sedona it was already dark. We woke up the next morning and stepped outside and were blown away by the red rock formations. We LOVED Sedona, and this cool tune brings back memories of that trip.

Detroit Rock City - the first album (record) I can ever remember is Double Platinum by Kiss. I was 5, living in Blaine, WA. This record was a library loan (I think), and I don’t remember if it was my dad’s choice or if I asked for it because of the cool embossed silver cover with the band in their traditional face paint. In any case, I really liked the music.

Cool playlist, @MikeDmo24!

I think if I created a similar geography-themed playlist, I would start with these tracks from my library:

  • Stoner/doom metal band OM has two tracks that I really like, that are named after places in Egypt:

https://open.spotify.com/track/2vAhgSxs7pQk1mcSXiDqPw?si=b644ae2d115a4002

  • I’m not sure why the Poland-based stoner/doom metal band Dopelord has a song named after a city in Ohio, but I think it’s a great track as well:

  • And here are few other tracks that I enjoy listening to, named after some other places in the world:

Nice topic @MikeDmo24 !

We had a listening session for Values Week a bit earlier in the year and someone shared this gem that fits perfectly here 😄

thank you @TreyAnastasio

I really liked the Dopelord Track Toledo - maybe has something to do with me being half Polish? 🙂

I had never heard that Hendrix song either,  (and have quite a bit of his stuff) enjoyed it too Bonus, I lived in Mississippi from 1979-1981.

Here's my playlist GPS - Recorriendo Argentina with songs in spanish and places from my country.
