Share the oldest song from your library

Feel free to share the track with the oldest release year that you’ve saved to your Spotify library so far.

The oldest track in my library is “Afro-Blue” from John Coltrane’s Live At Birdland album, which was recorded in 1963:

Does this count the year the song was recorded in, or the year that the album in my library containing it came out in? Because if you go off of the recording dates, I think it might be "Row Row Row" by Arthur Collins in 1912, though I listen to a lot of old songs, so I am not perfectly sure.

While this is definitely NOT the oldest song I like.  This was just the first song that I added to my Spotify "Likes" playlist.

Thanks for sharing, @BroadwayPhysicist!

When I started this thread, I was considering only the album (or EP or single) release date. However, I hadn’t considered scenarios where the release date is quite a bit newer than the recording date for the song. I’d say that for the purposes of the thread, you can count the year in which the song was recorded; it seems more relevant to me for songs where the difference between the recording date and album release date is quite significant (102 years different in the case of “Row Row Row”).

Cheers!
