-1, People who listen to 3-hour long podcast with dense content are intelligent enough to discern the veracity of the information presented there-in.

This month new information has been released by the CDC that would have been banned by YourTube or Twitter if presented on their platforms just a year prior.

Authoritarians fear the free and open exchange of information because it loosens the control of the elite and democratizes power.

If you are an unwitting pawn of a campaign to limit the free and open exchange of information (right or wrong as determined by an authority) I beg you to reconsider this approach. You are limiting your ability to discern true and honest information from rubbish which is far more harmful to your well-being than the occasional ingestion of misinformation.

Hello,

sorry, but listening to a 3 hour podcast does not automatically mean you understand its content and it most definitely does not mean that you can filter out fake-news and misinformation.

I think you should look into how people have been radicalized through Facebook, Youtube and especially through people like Alex Jones (a frequent guest of Rogan, I understand). If you let dangerous people spew calculated misinformation without  calling them out, you help radicalize others.

I am extremely disappointed with Spotify. How can they give this man $100m, knowing his politics and his past covid misinformation?

I think I will have to cancel my family subscription and look for alternatives.

I wholeheartedly agree that misinformation should be discussed and debated in the public forum so it can be thoroughly stamped out.

However I do not trust you or anyone else to be a fair arbiter of the truth. Such things can only be determined as a result of robust public debate.

We just found out that Ivermectin is indeed a very effective  prophylactic against covid and hospitalization thanks to leaked DARPA documents and s large study in Brazil that was just released.

Imagine how many lives could have been saved if this information had not been suppressed online or ridiculed by the media. Imagine how many doctors have been attacked for advocating for and prescribing the drug.

That's what happens when the truth is hidden by censorship. We could have had several weapons to fight the disease but those with financial ties to big pharma only gave us one.

MutualDisdain,

very funny! you are actually spreading fake news while you are complaining about censorship. You have suggested all this crazy new information (studies from Brazil? DARPA?) without giving links, dates or any information that can be checked. Since I havent seen any credible information on any serious news sites (you know: media companies that hire and pay actual reporters and journalists), I do not believe anything you say.

Please stop talking about censorship when you are advocating we believe your crazy sh*t without anything we can check.

Neither you, myself, or someone claiming authority have a monopoly on the truth. Truth can only be determined as a result of robust and free discussion.

You are asking people to cancel Spotify and effectively censor public debate between experts who have more authority than you or I have on subject.

Without public debate the average person cannot discern which expert is presenting valid information to the public. Competition between expert testimonials allows for validation of life impacting information provided to the public.

Blindly trusting one authority without allowing the information they present to be debated and therefore verified is a crime against humanity.

The experts that Rogan allows on his show provide that validation. The government, social media, and mainstream media actively censor expert dissent which has potentially destroyed millions of lives economically and likely caused the deaths of thousands.

Adopting the elitist attitude that everyone but you is too stupid to evaluate information presented on a podcast is ignorance itself. Your type of ignorance is more harmful to society than any other potential danger because it prevents us from finding the truth.

Here is the link to the Brazilian study. It also contains a lively discussion underneath where proponents and detractors are debating the finer points of the wording and methodology.

Here is a link to a summary of the DARPA leak which also links to the documents themselves:

Free discussion is fine if it is balanced and fair. The problem with the Joe Rogan podcast is that it is neither. He gives time to a climate denier who clearly has little or no understanding of climate science but no time at all to any climate scientists who could quickly tear down Jordan Peterson's rubbish. If you want to see some opinions from genuine scientists about Peterson have a look at this article in the Guardian:

https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/jan/27/word-salad-of-nonsense-scientists-denounce-jorda...

I can no longer support Spotify while it gives a platform to this sort of rubbish. Not only is it just rubbish, it is dangerous rubbish, as we need urgent action on climate if our children are to have a safe future.

I'm still with Spotify because they keep Joe Rogan on as well as Neil Young. I don't want censorship!

If I don't like something I'm able to skip or ignore it. As soon as Spotify starts to remove too much, I'll leave!
