Unfortunately, the web player version of Spotify on Chrome OS does not have all the features that are available on the desktop app or the mobile app. This is because the web player is designed to be a lightweight version of the app that can be used on any device with a web browser.
While it is possible to change the language setting on the web player, some features like crossfade and other settings may not be available. If you want access to all the features of Spotify, including the ability to adjust crossfade, you will need to use the desktop app or the mobile app on your Android device.
If you don't want to use the desktop app or the mobile app, you can try using an Android emulator on your Chromebook to run the mobile app. This will give you access to all the features of the mobile app, including the ability to adjust crossfade. However, keep in mind that running an Android emulator may be slower than using the web player or the desktop app.
I'll be doggone if I don't hear from you!

Thanks Prague, that's all really good info! The Chrome OS desktop app seems like it's essentially just the web player (only has language selection option) so I guess I'm stuck using the mobile app for now.
Fursure dood,
I'll keep an eye out for updates, workarounds or even extensions for Chromebooks; I'll drop a line in here if something comes up!
Pawsome meeting you,
