sound quality with Google Cast - volume normalization?

Hi, 

I'm back on Spotify Premium after a long hiatus and noticed that audio quality when casting is good, but not quite as great as a competing service.

On mobile, I was able to improve my perceived audio quality (which yes, is set to Very High) by disabling Volume Normalization.

I wonder if the same culprit for "not amazing" sound quality is volume normalization when Casting. Is Volume Normalization turned on when casting using Google Cast / Chromecast? if so, is it possible to disable it? In the mobile (Android) app, the setting is grayed out when casting.

Otherwise, how does the quality and encoding on Cast differ from Web player, desktop player app (Mac), and Android mobile?
