Podcast keeps playing previous epsidode!

Can anyone advise? I listen to Spotify podcasts on my Andoid phone and use Android Auto in my car.

Frustratingly instead of moving onto next episode, if goes back to the previously played one.

This has only been happening in the last couple of months up until then Spotfy was great.  If this is a app glitch then for a paid for service it is appalling.

I have tried the following:

• Clean reinstall (more times than I can count!)
• Changing filter options to newest/oldest/unplayed
• Clean reinstall....restarting my phone, then installing Spotify.

A clean reinstall works for a couple of podcasts then it starts to play the previously played episode, again!
