Stitcher Shutdown

Hi there World, I have just learnt that after 6 or 7 years of comfortable podcast listening on Stitcher that we are being kicked out of home as the platform is shutting down. We've been told we can export a file of the shows we listen to onto another platform. I have a Spotify account and even have a few podcasts that I listen to on there. So.. my question is will Spotify accept my file of shows from Stitcher and, if so what steps do I need to take to carry out the migration???? In anticipation of some sound guidance, thank you!

Since Stitcher shut down in August 2023, users were advised to export their podcast subscriptions to another platform. However, Spotify does not support direct import of OPML files (the standard format for podcast subscriptions). Here’s what you can do instead:

How to Move Your Podcasts from Stitcher to Spotify

1. Export Your Subscription List from Stitcher

   • If you haven’t already, try to download your Stitcher OPML file from their last provided instructions. (This may no longer be available after the shutdown.)

2. Manually Search for Podcasts on Spotify

   • Open the Spotify app or Spotify Web Player.

   • Use the Search bar to look up each podcast individually.

   • Click Follow to add it to your library.

3. Use a Third-Party OPML Converter (Optional)

   • Some services like Podcast Addict or Pocket Casts allow OPML imports.

   • You can import your Stitcher list there, then manually find and follow them on Spotify.

Alternative Podcast Apps That Support OPML Import

If you prefer not to manually add shows, consider switching to:
