Can’t connect hulu account to spotify premium student subscription

My Question or Issue

I’ve been trying to connect my current hulu account to my new spotify student premium subscription so they get billed together, and keep getting the same page (attached below). After selecting activate I choose the option for when you already have a hulu account, then the error page shows up after confirming I want to connect my hulu. I use the same email for both accounts, have tried on both my phone and laptop, even on incognito mode and off. After speaking with customer service from both hulu and spotify nobody seems to be able to find a solution after a lot of troubleshooting so I’m a little stuck.
