Hey! I'm a guy from Sweden, currently attending the second year of Computer Science & Engineering program at Halmstad University. I have 3 years left at the university but i've already some what have planned my career path, at least that's what i'm putting in the hard work for.
Since I was in my first teenager years, I had many things I was interested in - video games, music, sports, programming, friends etc.. But two of the things had a special place in my heart. Music and programming was the best combination for me. Didn't really matter if it was Midsummer or Christmas Eve, you would most often find me by a laptop, listening to Spotify's top hits made just for me while I was trying out new stuff with Java or C#. And this is pretty much how I grew up, with Spotify and programming. I chose to study Computer Science & Engineering and here I am.
Over the years, I've been trying out all kinds of programming languages - Java, C#, Javascript, Python, Swift etc.. I never really chose a specific language to get deeper into the main frameworks, but lately Javascript & Swift has caught my interest a lot. Experimenting with making various kinds of bots with NodeJS and IOS applications with Swift. I'm always trying to get better at what I do.
My plans for the future are to finish studies here at Halmstad University and HOPEFULLY get an internship at Spotify in Stockholm. I would also love to come and visit HQ someday if it's possible. I wanna know more about how company operates and get to know some people who work there. Here are some questions I want to ask you, the employees at Spotify.
What would you recommend for me to focus on at this current time of my studies?
What programming languages should I get deeper knowledge off?
What are the chances of getting an internship at Spotify in 2-3 years?
Possibilities of getting a software engineer career at Spotify?
Are there any specific paths I could choose to take to make this dream, of becoming part of the Spotify, come true?
