Did Spotify quietly remove playlist looping for free users on mobile?

I'm trying to sanity-check my memory here. I clearly remember being able to loop entire playlists on mobile as a free-tier Spotify user—not just on desktop. But now the loop button on mobile is gone unless you have Premium. There's no official announcement or changelog I can find that confirms when this feature was removed. I've asked friends, and some say it was always Premium-only... but I swear I used it without Premium.

Does anyone else remember being able to loop playlists on mobile with a free account? If so, around what year or app version? Screenshots or other evidence would be amazing.

Please help me prove I’m not Mandela Effecting.

Welcome to Spotify, it's great to have you here.

It's not possible to repeat playlists with Spotify Free on mobile.

If you've ever gotten this, it's most likely because your account was part of a trial. But for now, this is a mobile-only feature.

If you want to use it, check out the Premium plans! I guarantee it's a unique experience 🙂
