Free choice of Spotify version

Since Spotify likes to implement new features to test, even if this means changing/removing good features, why can't I choose the version I want to use? Spotify adds features that are actually good and suddenly gone again. Or changing good features and making them very bad. Like recently the full screen mode got updated, there are already some discussions about this. I mean it's fine for Spotify to test things (even though the old full screen mode was objectively better) but at least give us the freedom to roll back to the last version if we liked that more.
