Hey all!
I got a little idea for a game which goes along the lines of suggesting a song suitable for the mood, moment or situation given by the previous user. It would possibly be a great playlist extension game!
Pulled this idea off a radio interview which turned out to be really interesting and lovely listen (you don't really have to guess more than twice on whose interview that was!) 😉
The rules would be:
1. Suggest a song that you think suits the mood / situation (posted by the previous user) the best.
2. Give a new mood. Or situation. You can be as simple as 'sad' or be as specific as 'the feeling you get when you have to do network cabling for the whole building'. You could ask for a great song to play for when you're trying to get this lovely dark-eyed girl, or a motivational song specifically for dishwashing after Christmas party!
Albums and playlists are fine too, if you find there's an entire collection of songs matching the given phrase. 🙂
I hope it will be fun game to participate in, and I'll make the first easy step:
you're happy because it's a good day!
Idk, I always love to sing along to this song:

Next: You're a happy child on a sunny day during summer holidays and you're feeling carefree because you're just living right in the moment and you're not thinking beyond the present (but if you think about future, there's nothing that depresses you). Just a day off. So you're happily jumping on the trampoline.
Here you go, Cherryautumn

I think of this, for what you described, more for thinking about those times in retrospect, like the times that I was a kid, spending my summers at my Grandparents house, and going to the the pool, park, and other places on our bicycles. It could be used for being in that time, as well. For me, it gives me the memory of that place and time.
You're description reminded me of the Precog talking about John Anderton's son, in "Minority Report".
The next mood is "Alone/Reflecting/Disconnected". You have a bittersweet feeling, thinking of how it is now (feeling down), being alone and disconnected, and thinking of a better time in your life (a year ago, your younger adulthood, or your childhood). I would like to see who could express this mood, without lyrics, but if there are lyrics, they should be fitting for the alone and disconnected part, or the reflecting part.
Here’s my pick of the track in my library that I think best expresses an “Alone/Reflecting/Disconnected” theme:

“Soledad” can mean solitude, loneliness, or isolation, and I think that this instrumental track by Causa Sui manages to capture this mood well; it also sounds contemplative to me, as if wistfully reflecting over past memories. And while a bit repetitive, I tend to like repetitiveness in music. There’s also a studio version of the song on the Summer Sessions, Vol. 1 album, if you enjoy this track. I almost chose a different song by another of my favorite bands, My Sleeping Karma, who also produce all-instrumental rock music and nearly always have reflective, atmospheric, and somewhat somber qualities to their sound.
Next up: a song that reminds you of thunderstorms
Hey, Trey
I'm listening to the song, right now. It's good. It's different from what I was expecting, but I think I could use ifpt for one of my other playlists, maybe. I definitely want to save it. I couldn't tell that this version was not the studio version, because it was so clean and clear. I love Iron Maiden, but I don't think that would fit for that particular mood, unless you were in that situation, which it would be perfect for. I was trying to reply, a little bit earlier, but you changed you post. If you were going to have the mood the same, I was going to post my playlist of the mood that I described. I have a choice for this mood.
https://open.spotify.com/track/69QHm3pustz01CJRwdo20z?si=zGSIym6fQWyDq0pTzmQSFQ
Here's why.
I forgot to post a mood. Do you want to take this one, Trey, or anyone else? If not, I'll think of something. By the way, I'm checking out the studio version of the song that you posted.
Cool, I’m glad you like my selection; Causa Sui are one of my favorites!
My original post got deleted right after I posted it, and I’m not sure why, but I originally thought it might have been either because 1) I didn’t read the rules at the beginning of the thread that said that one needs to pick a new mood for each post or 2) because my quotes from the Iron Maiden song were too dark lyrically; so I edited out these things in my newer post. (In retrospect, I think my post got deleted just because I tried editing it soon after I posted, which I’ve done in the Playlist Exchange and had my posts deleted similarly a few times that way).
Great choice for the thunderstorm theme! I hadn’t actually listened to AC/DC very much before, but this is a good song. I’d be curious to hear your playlist for the previous mood too.
For a new mood, how about a song that sounds like you're underwater? Or you can choose the new mood if you like as well, since you posted the last track.
